Scholarships Accepting Applications Before Matriculation
Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: Some available scholarships in Japan for international students, including MEXT) Scholarships awarded by the ministry of education, culture, sports, science and technology (MEXT). Student Exchange Support Programme (Japanese Government’s Scholarship).
However, among those accepted into a Japanese university on the basis of an exchange agreement between two countries, short-term scholarships under the auspices of JASSO are available for international students. The scholarship is a monthly payment of 80,000 yen for the duration of stay in japan.
Applications, together with those for the exchange programme itself, should be addressed to Kyoto University by the student’s home institution.
