Program Structure

The fellowship unfolds in three main phases:

  1. Community Needs Assessment (June 2026): Participants conduct in-depth assessments to understand their community challenges.
  2. Virtual Leadership Training (July 2026): Fellows attend a month-long online learning experience focused on leadership, communication, and project planning.
  3. Implementation and Mentorship (July 2026 – July 2027): Participants execute their action plans with ongoing guidance from MCW alumni mentors.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to qualify for the MCW Young Leaders Fellowship 2026 in the USA:

  • Identify a key issue in their community related to education, health, or economic security.
  • Be between 18 and 26 years old as of June 1, 2026.
  • Possess proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Commit to completing the Community Needs Assessment, attending the 10-day in-person program in July, and working for one year on their community project.
  • Have reliable internet and email access for communication with mentors and the MCW Global team.
  • Be eligible for travel and visa documentation to the United States.
  • Submit a completed application by the deadline: Friday, December 3, 2025, 11:59 PM (NYC EST).
