Eligibility Criteria for MIT Summer Research Program 2026

To be considered for the MSRP 2026 (Fully Funded), applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must be enrolled full-time in a degree-granting undergraduate program at an accredited U.S. institution or its territories (excluding MIT).
  • Must be a sophomore, junior, or non-graduating senior.
  • Graduation date must be no earlier than December 2026.
  • Must have a genuine interest in pursuing graduate studies at MIT, excluding professional Sloan programs such as MBA, EMBA, and LGO.
  • Eligible applicants include:
    • U.S. citizens
    • U.S. permanent residents
    • DACA students
    • International students enrolled full-time at U.S. universities
  • Students are not eligible if:
    • They are exchange students
    • They are pursuing their undergraduate degree outside the United States
