Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin Internship 2026: The Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) International Summer Student Programme (ISSP) 2026 is now accepting applications. This fully funded opportunity allows undergraduate students to engage in cutting-edge scientific research in Berlin, Germany, from July 7 to August 29, 2026.

The ISSP provides an immersive experience in Photon Science, Photovoltaics, Quantum Materials, and other advanced scientific fields. Participants will collaborate with HZB scientists at the Berlin-Wannsee and Berlin-Adlershof campuses while enjoying exciting excursions, workshops, and research facility visits.

• Financial Support:
  • Students from outside Berlin receive a gross subsistence allowance of €1,900.
  • Students from Berlin/Potsdam universities receive €1,000.
  • Travel reimbursement:
    • EU students – Up to €200.
    • Non-EU students – Up to €800.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a current undergraduate student enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program.
• Field of study must be Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Must have completed at least two years of full-time university study.
• English proficiency is required.
• Must provide proof of enrollment valid until August 2026.
