Kyoto University Scholarships in Japan 2025: This is a scholarship program for postgraduate, undergraduate, and master’s programs in all subjects taught at Kyoto University in Japan. The application deadlines are different but are open to interested students across the globe.

Scholarships Accepting Applications Before Matriculation
Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: Some available scholarships in Japan for international students, including MEXT) Scholarships awarded by the ministry of education, culture, sports, science, and technology (MEXT). If you want to make the application for this scholarship, it is required as a prior condition for matriculation and should be done either by using a Japanese embassy as a recommendation or through a university in Japan.

Student Exchange Support Programme (Japanese Government’s Scholarship).
However, among those accepted into a Japanese university on the basis of an exchange agreement between two countries, short-term scholarships under the auspices of JASSO are available for international students. The scholarship is a monthly payment of 80,000 yen for the duration of the stay in Japan.
Applications, together with those for the exchange program itself, should be addressed to Kyoto University by the student’s home institution.
