The University of Oslo is offering a PhD Research Fellowship in Supervisory Control for the Power Grid of a Telescope for the motivated and talented students.

To be eligible for the PhD position, applicants must hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) in cybernetics, intelligent systems, automation, or related fields. Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all nationalities.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in Supervisory Control, Power Grid Optimization, or related fields within renewable energy and automation.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
    • Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in cybernetics, intelligent systems, automation, or related fields.
    • Candidates completing their Master’s degree by June 30, 2025, are eligible to apply.
    • Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Model-predictive control, numerical optimization, econometrics, virtual power plants, power systems, machine learning, renewable energy systems, and advanced statistics.
    • Must have a strong academic record (Bachelor’s degree courses with a minimum average grade of C and Master’s degree courses with a minimum average grade of B in the Norwegian system).
    • Must have fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
