Accepted candidates will travel to Nice, France, to attend the full duration of the UN Ocean Conference negotiations, which will take place from 9 to 13 June, arriving on 7 June and departing on 14 June.
The European Journalism Network will cover non-refundable airfare, accommodation, meals, travel medical insurance and ground transportation related to participation in the conference. The organisers will also facilitate press accreditation and provide logistical support related to the trip. Please note that obtaining any necessary visas is the responsibility of the accepted applicants, although the European Journalism Network will reimburse visa costs. Fellows will also receive a per diem to cover daily expenses while in Nice.
5-8 journalists will be selected for the in-person fellowship. Prior to the start of the UN Ocean Conference, fellows will receive media resources and technical support to help prepare for conference coverage. They will attend a virtual pre-COP workshop to meet their group and media trainer, discuss coverage opportunities, and ask any questions to support pre-coverage and preparatory work.
