The University of Auckland Excellence in New Zealand welcomes international students to apply for the International Student Excellence Scholarship. This scholarship is designed to support new international students enrolling in undergraduate, bachelor, diploma, and master’s level programs across all subjects offered by the University of Auckland. Applications are accepted bi-annually with deadlines in November and April each year.
University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship
A Scholarship of up to $10,000 towards compulsory tuition fees for new International undergraduate and postgraduate students.

AID PACKAGES
The University of Auckland offers up to 50 scholarships bi-annually. Scholarship recipients will receive a fee credit for their first year of tuition at the university.
Eligibility for Nationalities:
The scholarship is exclusively available to international students.
RULES TO GET AID / ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be new international students with an unconditional offer for a Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s (taught) degree or ELA students with conditional offers seeking admission to an undergraduate program.
- Have studied abroad at the secondary level.
- Possess a GPE of 6.0 (or equivalent) in their prior degree.
- Display strong academic performance, an impressive application letter, and good references.
- Not be currently enrolled at the University of Auckland or planning to enter a Research Master’s program.
- Not be undergraduate students from the University of Auckland Foundation Providers (UP Education and Taylors College) or recent secondary school leavers.
Selection Process
The selection committee will evaluate candidates based on academic excellence, the quality of the application letter, and the recommendations provided by referees.
Application Process
Scholarship applications typically open around six weeks before the closing date. For studies beginning February, the application deadline is 21 November 2023. For studies beginning July, the deadline is 20 April.
