Entrance & Excellence Scholarship Details
The University of Ottawa aims to balance its global student population by offering average-based renewable scholarships, especially targeting students from African countries, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, South Korea, India, and Bangladesh who are pursuing English-taught undergraduate programs. Starting in the fall semester of 2024, eligible international students from these regions can expect significant tuition fee reductions.
Besides rewarding past academic achievements, the scholarship promotes continued excellence throughout the student’s full-time study at the University. African students and others who are studying in English will benefit from reduced tuition fees and the opportunity to participate in innovative pilot programs across three faculties.

Applicants for the University of Ottawa Entrance & Excellence Scholarship must:
- Be citizens of any aforementioned country
- Not be enrolled in a French immersion stream
- Hold a valid study permit at the start of classes
Application Process for University of Ottawa Scholarships:
Excellence scholarships are competitively awarded to top applicants with an admission average of 90% or above who apply by April 1, 2024, and whose admission is processed by April 15, 2024. Preference is given to candidates who prioritize the University of Ottawa as their first choice.
