About the Embassy of France English Language Assistants Program

Under this program, English Language Assistants in France are placed in public primary or secondary schools. Their main responsibility is to help students improve their spoken English skills while also introducing them to aspects of Anglophone culture and civilization.

Assistants typically work in collaboration with qualified language teachers. Their duties may include supporting classroom instruction, leading conversation sessions, or working with small groups of students outside the main classroom setting.

Selected candidates are appointed as non-permanent State agents in France. The workload is 12 hours per week, and the contract duration is seven months (six months for German assistants).

This opportunity provides structured training and early professional development, making it an excellent foundation for careers in education, international relations, linguistics, and global mobility programs.
