Program Overview
Rotary International awards up to 130 fully funded Peace Fellowships annually to individuals dedicated to advancing peace and international cooperation. The fellowship is designed for professionals seeking advanced academic training or practical development in peace and conflict prevention, peacebuilding, and international development.
Successful applicants will study at internationally recognized Rotary Peace Centers located across multiple continents, gaining both academic knowledge and hands-on experience through field studies and internships.
Host Institutions and Available Programs
Rotary Peace Fellows are placed at one of the following institutions based on program availability and candidate profile:
- Duke University & University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA: Master of International Development Policy Program (MIDP) or select degrees from the University of North Carolina.
- International Christian University, Japan: Master’s Degree in Peace Studies.
- University of Bradford, England: Advanced Practice in Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution MA.
- University of Queensland, Australia: Master of Peace and Conflict Studies (MPACS).
- Uppsala University, Sweden: Peace and Conflict Studies (M.Sc.).
- Makerere University, Uganda: Post-Graduate Diploma in Peace and Development Studies (certificate program).
Important Notes for Applicants
Applicants are generally not permitted to study at a Rotary Peace Center located in their home country. The only exception applies to candidates from Uganda, who may attend the Rotary Peace Center at Makerere University.

Eligibility Criteria (Rules to Get Aid)
To qualify for the Rotary International Peace Fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A minimum of three years of relevant work experience for the master’s program, or five years of relevant experience for the professional certificate program
- A recognized bachelor’s degree
- Strong English language proficiency
