Cookie Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage GrabScholarships uses. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Your choices
- Necessary storage is always on. The site cannot work without it, and it is not used to track you.
- Analytics (Google Analytics) is only used if you allow it.
- Advertising (Google AdSense) is only used if you allow it. If you don't, the site shows no ads to you.
Necessary (always on)
- gs_cookies: remembers your cookie choice. Kept in your browser until you clear it.
- gs_sid (cookie from our account server, once accounts are live): keeps you signed in. Up to 30 days, or until you sign out. Scripts cannot read it.
- gs_session: remembers that you are signed in on this device.
- gs_users, gs_dash, gs_apps, gs_pending_sch (preview mode only): your account, saved scholarships and application progress, stored only in your browser.
- gs_visits: counts visits so we can keep the first visit free of ads. In your browser only.
- gs_exit_seen, gs_ep_… (session only): stops the same message appearing twice in one visit.
- gs_ai (session only): your current Grab AI conversation, so it stays open while you move between pages. Cleared when you close the tab or press "New chat".
Preferences (always on, stored only on your device)
- gs_lang: your language. gs_theme: light or dark mode. gs_favs: saved courses and universities.
- gs_comm_seen, gs_exit_done: remember that you closed a message, so it doesn't come back for a while.
We cannot read any of these; they never leave your device.
Analytics (only with your consent)
- _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics): count visits and how pages are used, so we can improve the site. Up to 2 years. Google may process this data outside Malaysia.
Advertising (only with your consent)
- __gads, __gpi, __eoi and similar (Google AdSense): show ads, limit how often you see the same ad and prevent fraud. Up to 13 months.

YouTube videos
Videos play through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set cookies until you start a video.
How to control cookies
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, or clear cookies and site data in your browser settings. Removing necessary storage signs you out and resets your preferences.
